Five Questions for Jairus Lee of Comiqs.com They say a picture paints a thousand words. Well here's something that will top that - Comiqs. Comiqs is a service that lets people create and share comic-style stories by providing users with easy to use tools that transforms photographs into cartoon strips. You provide the photos and Comiqs.com provides the tools to create speech bubbles, frames and fonts. All a user has to do is drag and drop these tools as they are needed to make a comic. The site was started by three entrepreneurs from Singapore, Michael Lim, Bob Wang and Jairus Lee. So what have Jairus and his parners got to say for themselves? Five Questions finds out. 1. Who are Michael Lim, Bob Wang and Jairus Lee? We are entreprenuers from Singapore with a huge passion for the internet. All of us are either previously working for .com companies or are involved in projects dealing with the internet before working on Comiqs.com. 2. Were you born to be an entrepreneurs? I guess we all desire to be our own bosses because we value freedom and creativity. We will love to build a company with our own unique culture. 3. What did it take to get Comiqs.com off the ground?
4. Best thing about building a business via the internet? Scalability. If you design your product right, you could potentially have an international market for your product or services. It depends on what kind of internet business. For a business model like Comiqs, you will need very strong IT personnel and the right marketing strategies. So talent from both areas is critical to your success. For Comiqs, we are still at the infancy stage.
