Five Questions for Kieron Donoghue of UK Offer Media Affiliate marketing in the UK is now a three billion pound industry - and growing. Some affiliates are responsible for driving million pounds of business to merchants every year - and one of these "super affiliates" is Kieron Donoghue. Kieron runs a number of websites, including his flagship UK Offer discount code website and an excellent affiliate marketing blog. So what has he got to say for himself? Five Questions finds out. 1. Who is Kieron Donoghue? A 34 year old Internet Entrepreneur from Sunderland with a passion for making money online, music and cars! I love the Internet and the fact that the barriers to entry are almost non-existent and anybody can have an online presence. Of course whether they can use it as a vehicle to make online is another matter entirely. 2. Were you born to be an entrepreneur? Yes. I believe some people have a little something in their head that makes them look at things in a slightly different way. Some people absolutely cannot envisage doing anything but working for somebody else - and that is fine. However I believe entrepreneurs are born and will always find a way to do things differently. 3. What did it take to get UK Offer Media off the ground? At the start it took a lot of time, hard work and patience. I was working 50 hours a week in my "real" job and spending every spare second I had by building websites and marketing them online. This was tremendously difficult for the first year or so and didn't do wonders for my personal life. But I knew the short term pain would be worth the long term pain and when the day came where I was financially able to pack in my "real" job I celebrated like never before! 4. Best thing about building a business via the internet? As I mentioned above, there are no barriers to entry. So it's possible for practically anyone to build a business online, and these days with the likes of WordPress you don't even need any technical or design skills. Plus there's the added benefit of the fact that you can have access to a truly global market - all from the comfort of your own PC. 5. Top tips for someone wanting to start an internet business? Create your business around something you are passionate about. It's so much easier to do it this way. Don't look for "money making niches" as everybody does that. Instead create something around your passions and it won't even feel like work!
